Seatmate

Privacy policy

Last updated: 25 October 2026

Seatmate ("the app") is published by Blackwood Management LLC. This policy explains what the app does with your information. In short: it stays on your phone.

What the app stores

Everything you enter stays on your device, in the app's private storage:

We don't run servers that receive it, and the app has no account or sign-in.

Location

If you turn on "Follow the flight automatically" in flight mode, the app uses your phone's GPS while flight mode is open. It uses your height and speed only to recognise the phase of your flight (takeoff, cruise, landing).

Your location is never stored, never sent anywhere, and never used in the background. You can turn it off at any time in your phone's settings.

Weather data

To show the bumps outlook, the app sends approximate points along your route (rounded coordinates) to two public weather services:

These requests contain no personal information and no identifier of you or your device. The services may log standard technical data such as IP addresses, under their own policies.

Purchases

Payments are handled by Google Play. Purchase status is checked through RevenueCat (revenuecat.com), which receives an anonymous app user ID and your purchase receipts, so that your purchase works and can be restored. We never see your payment details.

What we don't do

Children

Seatmate is not directed at children under 13.

Deleting your data

Use Settings → Erase my data in the app, or uninstall the app. Either one removes everything stored on your device. To have your purchase record removed from RevenueCat, email us at the address below.

Health disclaimer

Seatmate uses techniques studied in clinical research on fear of flying. It is not a medical device and does not replace professional care.
